- Leading Furniture Hire Limited reserves the right to retain part or all of the deposit paid to cover loss, damage or cancellation (see section C).

- All cancellations by the customer must be made in writing via email, WhatsApp or recorded post. Orders are not cancelled until the cancellation has been received. It is recommended that you confirm receipt of your cancellation with Leading Furniture Hire Limited by telephone.
- 0% of the hire charge is refunded if orders are cancelled within 30 days of the hire start date. Leading Furniture Hire Limited will refund delivery and collection costs at its discretion. This cancellation policy also applies to orders placed within this period.
- Any reduction in order value by the customer, including changes relating to delivery and collection services, is treated as part cancellation, and the rules and charges outlined above apply.
- Leading Furniture Hire Limited reserves the right to cancel at any time. This would only occur in extreme circumstances, is very rare and is something Leading Furniture Hire Limited will do its best to avoid.
- During Hire
- When a Leading Furniture Hire Limited representative delivers the goods to the agreed site/address, and until a Leading Furniture Hire Limited representative collects them, the goods are the sole responsibility of the customer (see section I(6)).
- Goods should be stored correctly to avoid damage. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure they know how to store them. Information can be provided upon request.
- Goods should be stored in secure, dry conditions. Negligence can result in loss and damage charges as defined by Leading Furniture Hire Limited.
- Goods should be returned in clean, dry condition, or charges for replacement or repair may apply.
- Leading Furniture Hire Limited reserves the right not to leave goods with the customer if, on delivery, it is apparent that the goods will not be kept safely or securely.
- Late returns of goods will incur the relevant full hire fees, plus any costs caused by subsequent interference with other orders.
- Damage / Loss
- Charges apply to goods hired from Leading Furniture Hire Limited that are damaged or lost. The costs are available upon request.
- Loss also includes, but is not limited to, staff time spent on labour, waiting and cleaning, inconvenience to other customers resulting from failure to comply with the terms and conditions, agreed hire start and end times, and other relevant details.
- Refunds
- Deposit refunds are usually issued by the same method through which the funds were received.
- Leading Furniture Hire Limited aims to process all refunds within 14 working days of the end of hire. However, the time taken to receive the money may vary due to bank processing times.
- The customer should contact Leading Furniture Hire Limited if payment has not been received within 14 days of the end of hire to ensure that the refund has been processed.
- These rules apply to any other refund.
- Leading Furniture Hire Limited will not refund more than the value of a particular item if it is proven to be faulty or not received. Leading Furniture Hire Limited accepts no responsibility for additional costs or loss of earnings incurred by a customer.
- Delivery / Collection
- The customer is responsible for providing adequate legal parking for Leading Furniture Hire Limited vehicles for the entire time required for staff to safely complete delivery or collection. Failure to provide adequate legal parking may result in refusal of delivery or collection. No refunds will be given for a refused delivery. Redelivery and recollection costs may apply if the service is subsequently required.
- Any parking tickets, fines or additional costs incurred by Leading Furniture Hire Limited due to the customer’s failure to provide adequate legal parking will be passed on to the customer. Leading Furniture Hire Limited reserves the right to deduct these amounts from the refundable security deposit. Applicable charges will be subject to VAT.
- Unless otherwise agreed, delivery and collection are standard economy services that include:
- An agreed delivery and collection window within an 8-hour period between 7am and 7pm.
- Delivery and collection at street level or on the ground floor, with step-free access, within a reasonable distance of up to 10 metres from the nearest available parking point, or up to 10 metres into a ground-floor building.
- Narrow corridors, entry points and other obstructions, including potentially hazardous access points, may be considered additional services beyond the economy service.
- It is the customer’s responsibility to book an appropriate arrival time for delivery and collection. Waiting charges may apply if Leading Furniture Hire Limited is delayed from delivering or collecting, from the time its vehicles arrive on site until staff are allowed to begin unloading or loading. This may include queues at loading bays, security delays or obstructions caused by third parties inside or outside the venue.
- At the point of booking, or before the vehicle is dispatched, the customer must inform Leading Furniture Hire Limited of additional venue requirements, such as driver names, vehicle details, personal protective equipment, vehicle passes and any obstructions, including steps, doors, third-party staff or long distances to the delivery or collection point.
- If Leading Furniture Hire Limited representatives are refused access or delayed from loading or unloading at a venue for any of these reasons, redelivery, recollection, waiting or additional labour charges may apply.
- Before collection, goods should be left ready for the driver(s) in a similar manner to how they were delivered. For example, chairs should be safely stacked, glasses placed in boxes and trestle table legs folded away. Advice on preparing for collection is available upon request.
- Leading Furniture Hire Limited drivers will endeavour to call the provided contact number(s) 30 minutes before arrival. Although every effort will be made to ensure this call happens, it cannot be guaranteed and cannot be used as a reason for not being present at the arranged address at the time of arrival.
- The customer must ensure that they or an authorised representative are present during both delivery and collection windows. Failure to be present when the driver arrives may incur redelivery, recollection or waiting charges. The transport department can provide estimated arrival times (ETA) Monday to Friday, 08:00–20:00, and weekends, 09:00–17:00, by calling 07889974575.
- Any discrepancies must be reported in writing, preferably on the delivery note, within 1 hour of delivery. If no authorised person is present to sign for receipt or return of the goods, Leading Furniture Hire Limited may decide at its discretion whether to proceed without a signature. In this case, the customer automatically accepts the condition and quantity of stock stated by the representative present.
- Unless otherwise agreed in writing, goods must be dismantled and stacked together as close as reasonably practicable to the vehicle parking point. If hired goods are scattered across multiple rooms or tables remain fully set up, additional labour charges may apply for the extra collection time.
- During collection, the driver will carry out a preliminary check and count where possible. Some items, such as catering equipment and linen, may be too numerous or time-consuming to count on site. Although staff will endeavour to document discrepancies, the driver may not notice all damage, dirt or loss. All items will be thoroughly checked, counted and cleaned at a Leading Furniture Hire Limited warehouse. Charges relating to damage, loss or dirt may be reported following these warehouse checks.
- Leading Furniture Hire Limited may refuse to collect goods that are not ready for collection. Any goods left behind are the responsibility of the paying customer to return, or additional hire or replacement costs may be charged.
- Leading Furniture Hire Limited reserves the right to refuse delivery or collection, and apply charges, if any of these guidelines are breached.
- If Leading Furniture Hire Is Late
- Leading Furniture Hire Limited will endeavour to arrive as scheduled and has a strong track record of punctuality. However, delays may occur due to traffic, weather, issues with other jobs or other circumstances. Customers are advised to schedule delivery with sufficient time to account for potential delays and allow their event to proceed as planned. Leading Furniture Hire Limited accepts no responsibility for a customer’s failure to allow sufficient time and will not compensate beyond the value of the money paid for the job.
- If Leading Furniture Hire Limited is at fault and breaches its agreement with the customer, it may refund part or all of the delivery fees. The amount will depend on the length of the delay and whether the customer allowed sufficient time in accordance with the company’s guidelines.

Customers must ensure that hired stock will fit the intended space. Stock measurements are available on the company website or upon request.

- During a setup, customers are advised to follow the agreed plan. Setup is a service that is performed only once per ordered time. Depending on other commitments, Leading Furniture Hire Limited may refuse to spend additional time amending the setup after completion. Additional labour charges may apply if the plan changes or staff are obstructed during setup.

- The legislation was not already in place at the time of booking.
- You provide documented proof of the legislation.
- You give at least 30 days’ notice.
- A £50 administration fee applies (£30 if the order is less than £100).
Any additional costs incurred, such as labour for loading, delivery, cross-hire or items specifically purchased at cost, will also be deducted. Contract-specific text may supersede these terms. For example, if a special offer covers an extended period and factors in the risk of a temporary lockdown, the cost may not be refundable following a change in government guidance.
